This expansion introduces two exciting new character types: Sovereigns and Dark Chieftains. These figures embody key personalities in the War of the Ring, significantly influencing the course of battles and alliances.
SOVEREIGNS OF THE FREE PEOPLES
The Sovereigns of the Free Peoples, including notable figures such as Brand, Dáin Ironfoot, Denethor, Théoden, and Thranduil, play a crucial role as targets of Sauron’s influence, employing various means, including the palantíri. Rallying around these charismatic leaders is vital for the morale of the Free Peoples as they unite against the encroaching shadow.
DARK CHIEFTAINS OF SHADOW
In contrast, the Dark Chieftains represent the formidable leaders of the Shadow Armies, each with their unique personality but ultimately under the dominion of Sauron or Saruman. This expansion includes a Dark Chieftain for each of the three Shadow Nations: the Black Serpent, the Shadow of Mirkwood, and Uglúk.
