One of the most beginner-friendly RC aircraft on the market, the HobbyZone T-28 Trojan 450mm is a scale replica of the iconic military trainer aircraft, delivered in a 100% ready-to-fly package that includes everything needed to take to the skies straight out of the box. Built from lightweight yet resilient EPP foam, the airframe is engineered to absorb the bumps and hard landings that come with learning to fly — and a unique prop saver design lets the propeller pop free on impact rather than break, with a spare included for peace of mind.

At the heart of the experience is SAFE® (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology, which actively helps prevent overcontrol and crashes while offering three switchable flight modes that grow with the pilot. Beginner Mode limits pitch and bank angles and auto-levels the aircraft when the sticks are released. Intermediate Mode loosens those limits for tighter maneuvering as confidence builds. Experienced Mode removes all restrictions, unlocking full aerobatic capability including loops, rolls, stall turns, and inverted flight. An Automatic Aerobatics mode lets even beginners trigger single or multiple loops and rolls at the press of a button — before they’re ready to perform them manually.

The tricycle landing gear allows conventional ground takeoffs and landings on smooth surfaces, or it can be removed entirely for hand launches and grass landings. Two 1S 400mAh LiPo batteries and a USB charger are included. At under 250 grams flying weight, no FAA registration or Remote ID is required.

No experience required. The T-28 Trojan 450mm is a Skill Level 1 trainer aircraft — ideal as a first RC airplane. Once mastered, pilots can step up to larger trainers such as the AeroScout 1.1m or Carbon Cub 1.3m.
